Prefects


We the prefects of East Spring Secondary School pledge to uphold the
good name of the school.

We promise to help students to abide by
and respect the school rules.

We promise to treat others with
respect as we expect others to respect us.

We also pledge to help
our fellow school mates in whatever way we can.

We will carry out
our duties with diligence and be committed in whatever we do.

We
will be responsible, sincere and will carry out our duties with
integrity.

Back to school on 2011.

Hi Prefects! Enough about the Thanking. This post is for all Sec2s-Sec4s this year (2011). Remember we had a prefects meeting about what we expect during the 2011 last year before the school holidays? In case you do not remember, I'll do a reminder. :D

First, Duties:
  1. Duties will resume when school reopens. We'll start again from Group1. So Group1 members take note.
  • Before Bell Rings:
- Prefects on duty, report to the foyer at 7.10am to your Leaders.
Note: Please do not start wearing your ties only at 7.10am. Ties are to be worn on 7am SHARP.

  • When morning announcement is made:
- Prefects gathered at the Parade Square, IMMEDIATELY please start to chase the students to gather at their respective classes. I repeat, We do not want to see any prefect joining the students chit chatting away. Ty.

- Prefects at the Canteen, IMMEDIATELY start chasing the students at the canteen to the parade square. Note: Please also check the Atrium for students.

-Prefects on Duty, Please also help to settle the students down if you are down with only foyer duties.

-Note: For the 1 prefect per class duty, there will be some changes made in the following month, so this duty will not take place till further updates. Till then, please take this initiative to help with this role for the time being.


  • Recess:
- Prefects on duty are supposed to do petrolling duty on the class blocks during their duty week.

-Note: Please also Petrol along the Science Block Link way from Level 1-3. Please also petrol on the Link way to the Classes along the Science Block at Level 4.

-Prefects, You guys are supposed to chase Students out of their classroom. No allowance is allowed to any students. STRICTLY, Not even putting their PE into their bags. I repeat, NOstudents are supposed to stay in their classrooms during recess. Also, Take note, NO Food and Drinks are supposed to be brought out of the canteen premises. Any student caught with sweeten drinks or food, ask them to return to the canteen.

-Prefects please spread out evenly on each level. Note: We do not want to see prefects clustering together while doing duties. I repeat, Do not cluster when doing duties.

-For the Sec2s (2011), Take note that you'll be doing duty on your own till the new Sec1s joins our Prefectorial Board. During this period of time, please be responsible and do your duties well.

- For the Sec3s (2011), You might be doing the duties with the Sec4s, depending on the recess Schedule for the Sec4s. At this period of time, please work well with the Sec4s and be reminded that the committee will be watching you guys.

- IMPORTANT NOTE: Break time is only 15 mins, We do not want to see people strolling up to their classrooms when time is up.


  • Assembly Duties
-Prefects are to be out of their class five minutes earlier. FIVE MINUTES EARLIER NOT TEN minutes earlier. If there were to have any complains, disciplinary actions will take place.

-Any leader will assign any prefects on where to go and what to do.

-Prefects, please catch those people without ties and badges. Thosewithout any, pull them out. They are to buy one regardless whether they have the money on that particular day. Be firm.



Second, Attire:

Boys:
- Any point of time, Hair must not be touching the collar, ears and eyes. NO spiking of hair. NO DYED HAIR. I REPEAT NO DYED HAIR.

-Shirt must be tucked in AT ALL TIMES. Collar Badges must be present AT ALL TIMES.Shorts: Sec2s, Wear Short pants till further notice. Sec3s and Sec4s, Long pants, NO TAPERED PANTS.

-Socks are supposed to be school socks, NO other socks. And make sure we are able to see the word "ESSS" on it AT ALL TIMES.

- Shoes, COMPLETELY BLACK SHOES.

Girls:

- Hair must be neat, tied and NO FRINGES, FEELERS. Girls, if hair touched collar, its time for you to cut or tie.

-Nails are not supposed to be painted or too long.

-Shirt Must be Tucked in at all times. Collar badges on EVERY DAY. Skirt must be NO SHORTER THEN KNEE. NO Folding of Skirts, NO Tapering of Skirts unless there's a need to.

-Socks are supposed to be school socks, NO other socks. And make sure we are able to see the word "ESSS" on it AT ALL TIMES.

- Shoes, COMPLETELY BLACK SHOES.




*Going out to all Sec4s, Its the last few months of duties till you guys step down, be consistent in your duties and show a good example to all your Juniors. Going out to all Sec3s, Do your duties well, take note, Committee are Observing potentials of pro-temp committee. Going out to all Sec2s, Do your duties diligently with responsibility and integrity. Although there isn't any seniors with you guys during Recess, we trust you to do your best. Its time for you guys to take the lead.
